What a strange story.

What I'd say is "Pay for the feckin' cakes. You can afford it". The sense of entitlement that some celebs (or their agents) display is outrageous.

I've not watched Coronation St since 1996 so have no idea of who this actress is.

To be fair to her, PR and events agencies are full of self important knobs blinded by their own self importance based on their perceived  fame of working with  "celebs" and they think everyone else is dying to be granted entry into their self-obsessed world, by offering free goods.

We regularly get "offers" from agencies asking us to provide services free of charge, in exchange for a mention in the credits of their latest production, which will be shown on some obscure cable TV channel for dementia-stricken 90 year-olds living on the Isle of Wight.  A massive target audience if you manufacture incontinence pads, but of limited interest to most small businesses.

I doubt the "star" knew anything about it.  The funniest part for me was that the events agency threatened the cake lady with legal action.  A true measure of their arrogance.   The last time I looked, telling the truth was not a crime.

The amount of times I've heard "it'll be great exposure" is incalculable. It's as if PR people know that creatives have a hard time evaluating their work and prey upon it.

As soon as they use the word “collaborate” you know you’ve got a wrong’un, same bell ends that “reach out”

Even my simple small business has had similar. An "influencer" offered us the chance to tender for work at her place pointing out the exposure we could benefit from. How we laughed....

That's nothing. I once went to see Mark Jenkins to offer our specialist services in reducing some non-core costs for the club.

He said he was really interested in our work and would be happy to take us on if we became official partners of the club at a cost of £50,000.

Saw the headline and was disappointed it wasn't Marsden. Not gonna lie.
Would rather talk to ChatGPT
