The biggest blow with that news is that he means we're definitely going to be stuck with him for the final year of his contract.

Whoever thought that giving him a 3 year deal on 20k p/w was a good idea wants shooting. He's been a terrible signing. For all the comments of 'does a job' and 'provides back-up', he's never once turned out performances where there's been any debate about whether he should be starting. That wouldn't be an issue if this was a kid coming up from the Academy or a cheap signing from League Two but for a player on the contract he's on it's unforgiveable.

Absolutely ridiculous the extended contract we gave him. A real sign of just how poorly run we were off the field. I've stuck up for Reach on here as its not his fault taking the contract he was offered. We all would have. He's a trier who can cover a number of positions who goes about his business quietly but he is woefully short of quality in any given position.

Absolutely this.

He was a massive over priced signing at the time and systematic of the lazy approach to recruitment that’s helped fuel this mess. No other club in the Championship would have gone near the salary or contract length we offered him, his agent must have been laughing himself silly when Ken made the call.

£3m we’ve spent on Adam Reach in wages alone, can’t tell me we couldn’t have found a left back and a left winger who’d have offered more for that.

Reach is very far from being a world-beater, but he does need to be replaced, so we definitely need another natural left-footed wide player with defensive skills now.
