Extra time for wasted time this season

I've argued for years that the timing of games needs to be taken away from the referee and visible to all in the stadium.

2 x 30 minute halves with the time stopped for all stoppages would end all of the time wasting nonsense and increase the average time that the ball is in play from a pathetic time of just under 55 minutes. It also offers equity and parity to all teams as there would be no fergie time or home advantage

On a separate but similar topic, can we not have all stadiums equipped with a red laser light that can be pointed onto the pitch when measuring the 10 yard free kick rule. Some refs don't seem to have a clue.

The studies I've seen (which include the link above) note that somewhere in the low to mid 50s is the average, I've never seen a historical comparison of the data though, but it does seem to be something that is getting worse to me

I think the 20 min stat was about how much time the ball is in control of a player, so not counting when it’s in the air, travelling in the pass etc.

My gripe with extra time is it's always added on and encoutered for in the 2nd half, the first half goes amiss

Amount of times there has been so many hold ups, injuries etc in a first half the reft adds on 1-2 minutes

2nd half thrown in the same with a few subs and it's 5 minutes plus, quite often more time has been lost in the first half and it's accepted as a given not bother putting the time on, hope this changes for next season

Sure I read somewhere at the end of last season that FIFA was going to trial 30 min halves with the clock being stopped whenever the ball was out of play? Some junior competition or something?
