He’d played enough games in the top Dutch league for PSV and Sparta Rotterdam and the Dutch league is rated high enough to meet the work permit criteria

Are these 'league ratings' to be found anywhere? Be interesting to see what leagues we can potentially look at.

We don't need another Zahore ffs!

Tino Anjorin scored twice against us for Huddersfield earlier in the season and looked dangerous everytime he got the ball. He is a Chelsea player and maybe worth a punt on loan (if fit). Talking of chelsea hopefully we might get Hutchinson next season.

Another one, if available, Festy Ebosele, he looked really useful at Derby but not sure how he is doing in Italy

There is a list somewhere, probably on the Home Office website.  Based on national team world FIFA ranking and Champions League (and equivalent) team rankings

Josh Windass - Sheff Wed - a little older than we ought to be signing, but had a great year for them, would be an improvement and much cheaper than Rogic
Aaron Collins - Bristol Rovers -  Striker, Player of the season for League One - but probably well out of our price range!
Jay DaSilva - Bristol City - Capable LB/RB - would offer back up on both sides and give some competition for Furlong/Townsend
Lucas Joao - 29, free agent, injury problems, Gourlay knows him - think this one will be nailed on, but knows where the net is in the Champ and better than what we currently have!
Luís Lopes - Aberdeen - all round forward, scored a lot of excellent goals in SPL this year
Leighton Clarkson - Liverpool - young creative MC - played very well in SPL
Eiran Cashin - Derby - would be a good replacement for O'Shea if sold - looks a hell of a prospect
Owen Moxon - Carlisle - best player in L2 this season and the catalyst behind their promotion push - MC who scores and creates!
Elliot Watt - Salford - young defensive midfielder who starts play and gets around the pitch - one with a lot of potential!

Moxon's an interesting one - after De Bruyne, Moxon has the highest number of assists (16) in the top 4 divisions this season. Elliot Watt comes next with 15, followed by Leif Davis (14) who plays as left-back for Ipswich. Davis is known by Carlos, who converted him to also be able to play as a centre-back for Leeds U21! Unfortunately Ipswich apparently paid over £1m for Davis.

Also high up on the assists front is Barry Bannan with 13 at Sheff Wed, although I don't think too many will be clamouring for us to bring him in at the age of 33!

Here you go. Probably tl;dr for many though!

They're published by the FA in their work permit guidelines.

Barry Bannan is a solid Championship player, who had it not been for injuries would have had a better career. He's stayed fit for this season and has probably been Weds' most important player. Not someone we ought to be going for due to his age and injury record, but he's a much better player than often considered.

Leif Davis has been outstanding for Ipswich and would be a significant upgrade on what we have, and is a good age profile, but no chance now. Reminds me of when we had the chance to sign Aaron Cresswell for peanuts from Tranmere and didn't, only for him to move to Ipswich and go on to become a quality LB for many years.

Charlie Cresswell at Leeds would be a good CB - been very good for Millwall and will know Corberan, however if Leeds drop he'll be in their team!

Sadly it's stories like this that only make it more inevitable we'll sign him!

Just one other point on assists - both Wallace and Swift were leading assisters in the Championship before joining us, but their productivity has reduced significantly with us.

I'm sure Carlos will be mindful of this and, should they remain with us, he'll be looking to get them fully firing again somehow. How much of it is down to them and how much to deficiencies with our other players and/or our style of play is open to debate of course.
