Fitness is poor and he hasn’t shed the weight he had on day 1 here
Doesn’t work enough out of possession
Doesn’t get on the ball enough in open play
Doesn’t attack the penalty spot enough - given we play 1 striker and 2 wingers
/ the attributes of Wallace

He’s a good player in a poor Champo team - just as he showed at Reading. If he did a few of the above - he would be a good player in a top 6 Champo side.

I just wonder if CC continues to play with a 4-2-3-1 whether he see Swift in a deeper role with a more dynamic No.10

I would be surprised. He doesn’t do enough out of possession for a number 4 or 8.

We need to find another inexpensive Dorrans - just like we did 15 years back

That’s very true.

Recruitment will be key.

It always is.

And it's always pathetic.

Harsh maybe but if we want to get to the next step which is challenging for the top six then Swift isn’t good enough.Technically he’s not a bad player but far too often he is the team’s invisible man and that’s not good enough. We are not in a position where we can carry players as we also have Grant who is hardly a work alcoholic and Challobah comes in that list as well.

Well yeah. So we have Grant who we are still spending a King's Ransom for and Chalobah who we could all see was a woeful signing.  It's obvious that this pair are not top six players given they didn't reach top six.
