Brianna Ghey - Scousers lighting candles
#1
It seemed odd that the police immediately declared this "not a hate crime". They're rowing back a little from that now. I'd say most murders done by 15 year olds are likely to be some sort of "hate crime".

Anyways, BBC Today programme this morning spoke to a couple of Scousers at a vigil in Liverpool. One said "this shows how strong and together we are as a community". The other said "she touched us all, whether or not we knew her".

Not being funny or nothing, but Culcheth where it happened and Birchwood where she lived are 25 miles from Liverpool. The people there would be incensed if you called them Scousers. So what the feck does their "strong community" do for her or to prevent this kind of tragedy from happening again? Hovering around every tragic scene like maudlin vultures. There people don't need to be encouraged by the Beeb.

Is there really any need for this post? Why take a tragedy and use it to have a pop at Scousers?

Quite right. I couldn't give a fuck about anything unless it happens outside my house.

I'm just as confused.

It's a shocking incident that has made a lot of people really think about our supposed society, so what if a group of fans want to show they are against such evil and hatred.

"The vigil was organised by Brianna’s friends for members and allies of the trans community in Liverpool to show support and solidarity."

It was organised by her friends so clearly

a) People had travelled to Liverpool and
b) If your issue is with them using the phrase "community" to mean Liverpool; even if they aren't directly talking about the community in Birchwood they are almost certainly talking about the community of trans people and allies as opposed to being "Liverpudlians".

Really weird post

It's the trans community, not Liverpool, which is the important part of what they were referring to
