Could be one of the shortest managerial reigns in PL history

Shit manager at a doomed club.

What could possibly go wrong?

He's done well at Luton twice, but his doomed spell at Stoke and now Southampton suggests he only thrives in small ponds.

Yeah but Wolves replace West Ham.

Even better!

Given the fact that I don't reckon well go up this season and it'll be even tougher next season we need the weakest to come down. Not the likes of Everton and Wolves who will be looking for an immediate return.

Only Luton's pond.

Like a slightly better version of Darren Ferguson

I think he’s chosen two very poor clubs to move to, but can’t blame him for taking the chances that come along, in management you can very quickly lose your position as flavour of the month.

Stoke we’re a poisoned chalice, massive wage disparity, ageing dressing room, rudderless off the pitch, he just didn’t have the experience to pull it round, and many more have failed too.

Saints are toxic currently… lots of chiefs behind the scene, disconnected transfer policy, it’s another very tough job but arguably his only opportunity at PL management unless he got Luton up with is unlikely.

DK will know more than me, but by all accounts he’s very highly regarded behind the scenes at Stoke, and several of their players speak highly of him. His journey at Luton is staggering, he’s clearly a good manager but has a habit of jumping too soon.

There's a definite art to knowing which clubs to move to and when. Appleton has made some atrocious choices, whereas Darren Moore taking a chance with Sheffield Wednesday might just pay off.

Think it would be Saints first PL relegation since the GE of 2005

Great.

As long as we pass them on their way down. Which we won't.

Not going to happen my friend.
