Let's face it, if you're at the football/racing/gig etc with mates, if the beers a tenner a pint we'd still pay it, whats the alternative? Stand there looking at it?

Think it was about 1982 the first time I paid a pound for a pint. A place called ‘Heath’s Wine Bar’ in Hanley. It was very trendy.
