So many on here blew a gasket when he went to Stoke. So glad we didn't go down that route. Patently obvious that 3 years of virtual inactivity would have dulled his skills and with age a factor he is nothing more than a part time division 1 player at best.

In fairness to Delap he should and probably would have gone out on loan to receive some of that development last season were it not for injury. He's missed a lot of playing time at a crucial stage.

And people suggest Cleary  could come in and do a job?

We really should have been using him from the bench as opposing defenders tire. Give them something different to think about along with giving him and our other academy players to aim for.

From what I saw of Cleary in his recent cameo he'll cause difficulties for defences in much the same way as BTA, raw and unpredictable.
