At least we are going to find a use for the Commonwealth Pool.

Can provide cover at RB and midfield.

Say no more.

Don't think his job would be to score goals. Plus has had limited playing time. The one worry would be his fitness.

Right back? He's left footed Huh

Delph has been a very good footballer but his fitness issues should be a red flag.

Doesn't matter a jot whether we can "imagine the meltdown" or not. Bruce and Gourlay don't run the club on the basis of what we think on this board. FWIW, I think they have been dropped very deep in the shit by Lai's creative accounting and the injury to Dike. If Delph comes in short term on lower wages than Mowatt, it's probably a necessary thing. If we get a fee for TGH, it might just be that we're desperate for the cash.

The problem of being a fan instead of a manager or CEO is that we get attached to certain players who (in our minds) represent the future or the spirit of the club, or who have sentimental links with successful times. Mowatt was a bright light during the (sadly brief) period when Val was winning games. TGH could be the next Bryan Robson, Remi Moses, Len Cantello, Tony Brown - someone we developed and got a few good years out of. Might still happen. Circumstances might prevent it.

It's already become a FACT that we are going to pay Delph big wages. But why? He's out of work. If he wants to play for us it will be at a price we can afford.

Would be another Barry/Anelka/Lambert/Ivanovic/Snodgrass/etc.

The only recent example of an over 30 signing being a real success I’d say was Fletcher (Carroll wasn’t too bad either)
