Thank goodness for that. No one deserves to be punished for the ridiculous rules put in place that you wanted for far longer and to be more draconian.

If nothing else it gave us that time Johnson called Starmer "Sir Beer Korma" - which was probably his best moment in office.

On a human level I am pleased for Starmer and Rayner that their political career has not been ended over this issue.
It always seemed to me that it was unlikely that this incident amounted to a breach of the law, and if it did, then surely we shouldn't have been holding elections at that time. The cynical side of me thinks that Labour Party would benefit from a change in leadership so....you can join the dots. But justice should always outweigh cynicism and prejudice. |
