Too many loan players - only allowed 5. Tosin, Johansen or Montero will miss out if Murphy is fit. I'd prefer Tosin to Barts at the back. I'd like to see Johansen make an impact, because our midfield was the weak link last time out. So I'm leaving Montero out of the 18. Replaced by Edwards?

Aside from the question of loanees, when is the right time to give Field a start ahead of Barry or Livermore? As has happened a couple of times previously, when Barry drops a bollock early on, it seems to affect him all game. Poor for the goal and never got going thereafter last week.

And finally, there are always two defenders on the bench. Expect to see Mears in the squad.

Exactly the side I would play in the assumption of those missing. I'd go as far as to say Hegazi for Tosin and that wouldn't be far off my strongest side if persisting with 4.3.3. Proper wide players with pace on the flanks either side of JRod (having Gayle in one of those wide areas clearly doesn't work).

Part of me is tempted to go with Tosin and Bartley again at the back...

Dawson and Tosin/Bartley has never really worked, but they were excellent together against Brighton. Sometimes it’s about partnerships and not just individuals.

Morrison, Livermore and Phillips is probably our best midfield trio, so if available I’d want to play them. Barry will be too slow for their intensity.
