Best vfm signing was Regis for me. He'd have made Lukaku look like a novice

I thought for a while the Guinness drinker would be a fantastic bargain but his star burned brightly for too short a time. Some great memories though

Regis was an incredible bit of business and the best bang for buck in my lifetime. £5k for my alltime hero!

Other notable lower fee great players....

Enzo
Gera
Pete
Jonas
Gmack
Dorrans
Mulumbu
Supes (although I guess £250k at the time was big money for us!
Hughes

In fact we've had much more success when going cheap. Its when we pay big fee's we unearth proper shite!  Big Grin

Yep.

£20k for Allen

£20k for Astle

Super investments.

Then we had Mills, Anichibe, etc., etc. and all the other dross.

Ben Foster - Undisclosed but thought to be £4mill. Worth 5-10 time that and the best keeper we have had.

For pure VFM - GMac & Mulumbu take some beating.

Mulumbu up there but he had a habit of giving the ball away in the opposition penalty area. Havent had a box to box player like that since.

What I remember most is me and the  old man laughing when they used to start announcing MOTM. As most game it was Mulumbu.

Was about to say the same. The bloke’s energy was incredible and even when things weren’t going his way the effort was always there.
