I could only access the first few lines. But the good news, if it's true, is that it's become known. And is "illicit".
I guess the bad news would be that this is how they're thinking.
I've read differing views on whether an owner can take funds out of a club. I've no idea.
But some on here seem to know this stuff... anyone?

No idea, but those who seem to know say he can't... however if there's any truth in this story then obviously Lai is sure he can... And whether he can or can't is a totally moot point if he does.

There is 100% truth in the story, they have voice recording and the quotes of Luke Dowling talking to an agent. It is all in the full article.

There is no way Dowling was doing this off his own back. This has come from the top.

These recordings will go to FIFA I assume.

Sounds like BFS was giving them advice on other things rather than just the new manager then!

A director can only take out
Salary
Expenses
Loan
Dividends (if a shareholder)

All have to be accounted for in the accounts.

Any dividend payments would also have to be paid to the minority shareholders.

The idea behind this deal was to put some money through the accounts and some of it straight to Lai and not go through the accounts which is fraudulent.
I told you I’ll be back

For those of us without a times subscription, what's been alleged? Mattheus getting sold with a fat backhander/finder's fee for Lai which never hits the club's account?

I guess we now know why "15m" was so often touted...

And there I was feeling positive about the Albion for a few days.

Pereira sold for £25m, with something like £5-£6m going to the club the rest to Lai.

That club statement, wim doomed!

That doesn’t read at all like we’re up to no good and fully aware of it…
