Sam is the better option for us IMO at this time, but we must get into a system where we have our next manager working alongside him now.
12 months learning would be a massive incentive for us to get some stability, the panic sacking and appointing managers has
done nothing to improve us as a team or club.

The problem is Remi, that that approach very rarely works in practice... Trying to think of the last time an assistant or "mentee" stepped up and was success at this level?

What we need is a system which means we don't throw the baby out with the bathwater every time we make a managerial change, and to have faith in that system to ensure we have a list of potential replacements each time we come round to make a managerial change... we really shouldn't have a working shortlist of Allardyce, Wilder and Appleton as it just shows we have no robust idea of what we want to do as a club other than "get up and sell"

Tbh, none of us know exactly what is going on.

Sam is here and it's a decision by all parties to make if/when we are relegated.

We all know by now the club want Wilder if the change is made. 

Appy is friends with Dowling, but doesn't appear to be on the shortlist this time.

My way of thinking was the example/model set by Liverpool, it coincided with the best period of results, trophy's & Cups
I didn't see it as luck, just a great succession of managers and stability within the club.
Maybe that will never be repeated?

Thing is, a lot has changed in the last 30 years since that was last successful. 

Goes back to the earlier posts, we need to either get the best people and build a system to allow them to thrive, or decide on a system and hire the best people for that system.
