Didn't Megson use it?

Or 5-3-2 depending which way you were looking through the lenses.

Clement and Balis were deffo ‘wing backs’. Moore, Gilchrist and Sigurdsson the sitters.

Yes without doubt that was a 3-5-2... Clement and Balis had a lot more attacking freedom than we often give SGM’s sides credit for.

Wilder hasn’t always been wed to 352. He played it at SU as it was what best utilised their squad. He’s played other systems with other clubs.

Yes, spot on. Meg son kept the 3 at the back until our second promotion season in 04 when he went with a normal 4 at the back with Gaardsoe and Moore.

I’m definitely on board with getting Wilder in too.

Wilder has played many different styles at all his clubs. Be keen to see what he does here, his system at Sheff Utd was worked out.

A very underrated tactician, can evolve styles in the same way Pep does.

3-5-2 still the best system to play for me. But relies heavily on the wing-backs being like duracell bunnies, and having a DM who is the same.

I like 3-5-2, but it’s easy to stop... it’s why it continually goes in and out of fashion.

We just don’t have the players for 3-5-2 in our current squad, and it fails to use the players you’d imagine will be key for us next season. Based on the squad we have currently, 433 and 4231 are the best formation for next season.

We simply have to find a way of getting Diangana, Pereira, Grant and Robinson into dangerous areas.

Sounds like another good performance from the lad, 2 assists and winning a penalty as Lincoln end a poor run of 6 without a win.
