Your favourite old ground and new ground
#1
Okay so whats your favourite old ground (one that no longer exists) and your favourite new ground?

Mine would be Roker Park (proper old school ground, always a good atmosphere and day out).

New one probably Huddersfield. Not a bowl, still a good atmos, still town centre rather than retail park.

Old ground is a tough one as I have not been to many now demolished stadiums. I did like Shrewsbury’s.
New, like the Ricoh.
Incidentally isn’t it strange that in an era where so many clubs have moved stadiums none of the big 4 round us have. The Blues came the closest when there was the talk about a new 60,000 stadium at the NEC.

Wembly and New Wembly but that's a bit of a wank choice so I'll say Filbert Street and New Wembly instead

I loved White Hart Lane. Old fashioned ground where you felt on top of the action.

Most of the “new” grounds leave me cold. All identikit soulless bowls. That said I went to Allianz a few years ago and watched Bayern, that was pretty cool.

My favourite ground no longer with us was the old Wembley (something magical about the place with the twin towers ,Wembley way etc)......that said I may get ran out of town for this but the old Villa Park was a great stadium (how the old Trinity Road stand with its facade was allowed to be pulled down was a travesty)

Thats why i like Huddersfield. New ground but open corners, quirky roof etc. Not an enclosed identikit bowl like all the others.

I agree re. new stadia.

Conversely, some of the old grounds were way, way past their best.

The Baseball Ground, and many others were just appalling.

Ayresome Park early 90's was virtually falling down.
