Your favourite old band and new band.

A different one on our musical musings folks.

One band that really mean so much more to you than any other and the reason.

Me Tears For Fears.

Got into them with the first album The Hurting and I was 17 trying to make sense of the world. They took me through some good years. Always recall being 23 and listening to Sowing the Seeds of Love on a coach from Dublin to Limerick whilst I was going out with a cracker from Dublin. The sun was shining and I thought it doesn't get better than that.

Their music takes me right back to carefree times.

Of new bands, by that I mean post 2000s I'd say possibly Elbow based on my recent indulgence but possibly Arcade Fire too.

The Eagles. Memories of what seems now like another planet. Analogue music at its best for me. Doesn't matter where I am or what I'm doing hearing them cheers me up. Fantastic musicians and vocalists. Such a shame their egos ruined it.

Modern era I suppose would be Kings of Leon. Love their sound. Digital music at its best for me.

Being an old twat fave artists from 70's outnumber modern ones by far

Old: Bowie

New: Pretty much everything post 2000 is my era so nothing’s really “new” so I’ll go for a band that came along in the last year or two... The Murder Capital

I’ve liked all kinds of music from the Beatles to soul, Motown the birth of rock/metal plus many more but one band has stood out and I’ve seen them live and used to religiously buy every album and that’s The Rolling Stones !
I’ve recently discovered I really like and like to try and play blues so my recent band would be The Steel Wheels!

How do people narrow their tastes down to just a few bands? I struggle to get it down to my 3 favourites if all time!

If I was to do an all time top ten I reckon 7 or 8 would be locked in and the remaining slots would depend on my mood at the time.
