Means a 3 man midfield, which dependent on availability will be Snodgrass, AMN and Okay.
I don't think Allardyce particularly wants Gallagher in the side, too young and inexperienced?

Who's Diagrams?
I hate using my phone to post.
Diagrams.

Can you not just draw it for us?

Big Grin

We might need a flowchart.

No fucking wonder we concede so many goals with Johnstone so far out of position.

Might plus the leaks in our defence.

You don’t half pick some bizarre teams Athers.

You don't arf post some bazaar shite SW4.   Big Grin

Explain exactly what is bizarre about it MR master tactician.

You’re putting Yokuslu in at centre half when our main issues this season have been in central midfield, and then playing Snoddy as a wingback which is something he’s never done, and doesn’t have the legs for in his 30s...

Johnstone

Townsend
Ajayi
Bartley
Furlong

Yokuslu
Mainland-Niles
Gallagher

Robinson
Diagne
Pereira

Button, Gibbs, O’Shea, Sawyers, Snodgrass, Grady, Grant, HRK

Yes our midfield is a problem but the defence is an even bigger problem  - my opinion is his greater impact at the moment and at spurs would be in the centre of our defence.    Snodgrass would not be playing as a wingback - 3 defenders is enough and when we haven't got the ball Robinson and Pereira would need to drop back to choke Spurs midfield.

Just like Slaven before him, I reckon Sam will play:

1. One man alone up front. (Which will mean no outlet for us and more or less relentless pressure on our midfield and defence).
and

2. Pereira on the wing. (Even though everyone and his Dog knows that Pereira should be in the middle).

Assuming he makes those two major gaffs then it won’t much matter who else he picks.

Sam has generally played Pereira central behind the striker....

Have to agree with Hops on this. The Livermore/Sawyers midfield axis has got us into this mess, but just now the defence is woeful. I keep reading about our lack of quality fullbacks, but why can't the centre backs (even Ivanovic who is supposed to be different class) deal with anything that comes into the box? I've said before, with Ajayi at CB we will never stop conceding soft goals. And when does Peltier get a chance to play proper right back?

Furlong or O'Shea at RB!

Neither of them are anywhere near good enough there but O'Shea is by far the better defender. Furlong is awful.

Didn't Peltier play and struggle at right back against 3rd Division Blackpool?
