If you take the starting midfield of Livermore, Snodgrass and Phillips, all have contracts that cover next season, other contracted midfielders for next season are Sawyers and Harper.
It doesn't leave a lot of room or resource to bring in new blood to the midfield area. Reminds me of the last time when we were relegated when we had a surfeit of ageing midfielders to choose from.
I don't think they represent a bad midfield squad for this level, but it is complicated. Would you start to negotiate contract extensions for any of them ?
Makes the addition of Snodgrass a bit of a puzzler. When AMN and Okay become available, not sure what he is adding.
