When Allardyce took over:

West Brom were in 19th, 6 points ahead of Sheffield United, 2 points off 17th.

They're now 19th, 1 point ahead of Sheffield United and 9 points off 17th.

And yet people aren’t blaming Big Sam.....

It’s almost as if he can’t control the teams around him. Ffs what a ridiculous argument.

Go by points per game - BFS is slightly ahead, but not by much.  So in short the bloke that put a lot of the squad together was doing abysmally. The fella taking over is doing pretty much the same job.  He’s now been allowed to address a few squad areas that were wilfully ignored by Bilic so let’s see the real BFS team.   And lets be honest BFS hasn’t been hacked in the window at all but at least he’s got a few in.

I didn’t want the bloke but he’s here now. As for the players, they couldn’t beat Huddersfield or QPR when it mattered last season, 2 different players in the starting XI to last season’s squad.  No surprise therefore that they’re still a bunch of bottlers.

Next season in the champo isn’t going to be pretty without a significant squad overhaul.   It’s not just that they’re not that good more that they’ve accepted losing and that’s a hard habit to change.
