Which is why Roy fitted like a glove and in some respects so did Clarke.

Also why we were linked with Hughton on two occasions.

Good luck placating and explaining that to the purists amongst our fan base. They’ve never go their heads around where, who and what we are in this era of football.

So it's either play shite football in the PL or not at all? How does that explain the many years Bournemouth survived in the Premier League? Or what Leeds are doing this season?

There is a balance to be had. Nobody wants to watch dinosaurs like Pulis and Big Sam put ten men behind the ball and hit it long.

WBA needs a functional manager/coach that provides a firm foundation to go to big clubs and be hard to beat.  Lose most, draw a couple and pick up the odd win... BUT make home a place that’s capable of picking up 25-30 points a season.  Do that you survive.

Take on the big boys with expansive football pleasing on the eye you get battered home and away.

This.

We have to be pragmatic, counter attacking and ultimately making the most of limited resources.

So we played shit footy for 8 years in prem?  No! We had some great days away and some excellent seasons at home.

Bubble burst when the structure disappeared and we put idiots in charge who saw WBA as a toy to build their reputations.

Defensive organisation and counter attacking pragmatism does not mean bad football ffs.

Bad football is getting thumped every game like we are now.

It’s either Pulis or Big Sam or open expansive football where we get beat every week. There is nothing in between its like Hodgson never existed.

Ashworth leaving did a lot of damage. We've still not replaced him to this day. Dowling does not inspire me.

So bizarre.

Dyche is the new Hodgson for me. Working miracles.

Smith isn’t bad either joking aside but admittedly he’s had millions.

Big Sam ain’t much different to Roy.  People are so blinkered.

Romantic idealistic footy in the top flight disappeared from the hawthorns early 80s.   There’s a reason for that and it’s called MONEY..... millions and millions.

To compete at the top level we have to be different... just like Burnley

Big Sam is miles different to Pulis. Far more like Roy. Dyche is pragmatic but again, not Pulis. Any of them, including Pulis, would be getting more from this squad right now imo.

This in a nutshell at the moment we are neither.
