Massive result last might... not our best 90 minutes, but after the Spurs and United results we definitely deserved something. Was really chuffed for Slav, to finally record a win and a clean sheet will help confidence no end.
Johnstone - 8 -some super stops, a range of distribution and looked a little more commanding.
Townsend - 6.5 - felt he got a little bullied at times, wasn’t his best game but remains mr consistent
Bartley - 7.5 - Enjoyed his battle with McBurnie, another decent showing from Kyle
Ivanovic - 8 - Feared for him when he got an early booking but his experience saw him through. An absolute monster at the back.
Ajayi - 8 - The back 3 really suits him, his pace covers Bran and he has the security to bring the ball out.
Furlong - 8 - First half probably his best game at this level, terrorised their fullback and Bryan at the back.
Sawyers - 7 - Excellent first half when we were well on top. Second half faded as SU upped the urgency in the middle and felt he struggled to keep pace.
Gallagher - 9 - MOTM - Absolutely everywhere, all our best work came through him and at full time he looked like he’d barely got a hair out of place...
Pereira - 7.5 - Much better first half. Having 2 ahead of him and being given more freedom in the centre saw him far more involved.
Robinson - 8 - Such an intelligent player, created a lot of space for MP, and linked up well with Grant.
Grant - 6.5 - A little more involved first half than he has been in other games but definitely a touch of the Earnshaw about him in that if he doesn’t score you question his contribution. Should have finished a couple chances better.
HRK - 6.5 - Worked hard but we need a better Plan B in January. Thought his turn, touch and shot at the end was going to be his annual wonder goal.
Krov - 6.5 - Felt this one was a mistake from Slav... we surrendered the initiative when FK came on as we just dropped deeper and deeper and it very nearly cost us.
Philips - 6.5 - One run where he looked like he was running through treacle, but generally he did OK out of position.
Slav - 7 - Finally bags a result... thought we looked really up for it, thought we got our tactics spot on first half and exposed their weaknesses, but the subs really weakened us. I know we don’t half a lot on the bench but felt Grady may have been a better option than Krov.
