A great keeper in many brilliant Liverpool teams.

Unfortunate to be around the same time as Shilton. For years managers couldn’t work out who was the better of the two, but then Bobby Robson chose Shilton as England’s undisputed no 1. Saw just Clemence had 62 caps still- a truly impressive amount. Him and Shilton without each other could have ended up with near 200 caps.

Proper gent when I met him; mind you, so was Des O’Connor (ex Northampton FC) when I played piana for him on tour.

RIP both of you guys. Sad to see these names on the notices. I hope post Covid that there will be a roll call , Tim Brooke Taylor, John Sessions, etc

RIP Ray

Great keeper but prone to being nutmegged as both Daglish and Robson proved.

RIP Ray.

He lived in the town that I grew up and presented me with my a-level certificate. Did a great line in how a school is a lot like a football club which end with "you've got to have loads of balls."

RIP  - 72 no age these days.

Bizarre that Greenwood couldnt make his mind up so alternated RC and Shilts in the early 80s.

Who was the usual 3rd choice keeper in those days?
