Eric Satie-Gymnopedies
Debussy-Au clair de la lune
Mozart-Serenade for Winds -yes I know it was on Amadeus but it's still great
Mozart-Don Giovanni-the scary bit
Mozart-Requiem Mass-as  a good Catholic I'm demanding this is played in full when I go (with TLMS naturally).

Might have gone for some patriotic Elgar but he was a Dingle so fuck him

I hate the fact that Elgar was a Ding.

Fucking prick.

Cycled to the Mol from Malvern apparently-so must have passed the Shrine vaguely on the way (I know the M5 wasn't there then).    Very poor taste and wasted on that unwashed lot.

He wasn't apparently - he was just trying to get in the pants of a woman who was a ding so he went to a game with her.  He was a Worcester City fan, most probly.

Well that's a relief.    Elgar's Enigma Variations No 9 (Nimrod) and his Violin Concerto is awesome too.   That said, if he really was a dingle he can do one.

Think these posts got mixed up a bit...

Watching this with interest. I've never managed to access classical music despite many a try, so intend to listen to many of the suggestions. There are plenty of operatic suggestions I could offer but I'll save them on the off chance it comes up!

I did think initially, “ how narrow minded of you”  but then I thought about your views expressed  on the ‘Track and Trace’ fred and realised you’re  actually mindless  Angel

Plenty of young people love proper music.  Wink

O Freunde, nicht diese Töne!
Sondern laßt uns angenehmere anstimmen,
Und freudenvollere.
Freude!
Freude!
Freude, schöner Götterfunken
Tochter aus Elysium,
Wir betreten feuertrunken,
Himmlische, dein Heiligtum!
Deine Zauber binden wieder
Was die Mode streng geteilt;
Alle Menschen werden Brüder,
Wo dein sanfter Flügel weilt.
Wem der große Wurf gelungen,
Eines Freundes Freund zu sein;
Wer ein holdes Weib errungen,
Mische seinen Jubel ein!
Ja, wer auch nur eine Seele
Sein nennt auf dem Erdenrund!
Und wer's nie gekonnt, der stehle
Weinend sich aus diesem Bund!
Freude trinken alle Wesen
An den Brüsten der Natur;
Alle Guten, alle Bösen
Folgen ihrer Rosenspur.
Küsse gab sie uns und Reben,
Einen Freund, geprüft im Tod;
Wollust ward dem Wurm gegeben,
Und der Cherub steht vor Gott.
Froh, wie seine Sonnen fliegen
Durch des Himmels prächt'gen Plan,
Laufet, Brüder, eure Bahn,
Freudig, wie ein Held zum Siegen.
Seid umschlungen, Millionen!
Diesen Kuß der ganzen Welt!
Brüder, über'm Sternenzelt
Muß ein lieber Vater wohnen.
Ihr stürzt nieder, Millionen?
Ahnest du den Schöpfer, Welt?
Such' ihn über'm Sternenzelt!
Über Sternen muß er wohnen.
