Long story short, the allegation is that Wigan were deliberately placed into administration at the behests of a Singapore betting firm who stand to profit from their relegation.

This is the most bizarre and corrupt scandal in English football since ITV Digital and Wimbledon/MK Dons and that is saying something. The EFL are quite obviously not fit for purpose in my opinion.
Makes it look like we have an absolute diamond in Lai.
Still have a fear it could go belly up at any time for us. If he wants to get out and get his money back, there is zero protection from the authorities to stop the same kind of thing happening.

Reading that sounds like some drama on BBC1
Its shocking & disgraceful
Maybe if the EFL put some bond up when a takeover is approved it might be a bit different
I'm still convinced there are some forces behind the scenes giving Villa a helping hand
I mean come on that VAR cock up the other week
You wouldn't put money on that
Or how they escaped points last year yet Blues have been chased down several times

I read in some financial round up after villas takeover that the best signing they had made of all the money spent, was Christian Purslow, the man who was the go between for villa and the FA. They have got away with some real liberties and continue to do so.

That tosspot is well linked to acronyms. The FA, HMRC, HS2...

Actually yes there is. Company Law. Ironically the 12% of the shares held by minority shareholders is a protection because the board owe a fiduciary duty to minority shareholders who could challenge an administration decision.
