It's ridiculous. Whichever side of the political divide you occupy, we need people to do a job. To have a prohibitive fee attached is a nonsense. I speak knowing a friend of my son has an Aussie girlfriend. She came for a visit, their relationship developed, she looked for a job in her field (nursing), and had to pay a couple of thousand for a training course to ensure she was suitable. The UK should waive that fee IMO. Further, no trainee medical staff should have to pay tuition fees, (also IMO).
