Get behind the government FF. Now's not the time for petty sniping!

It’s not petty sniping, it’s my personal opinion and I’ve made it pretty clear on here all along that we have been too reactive.   Other countries closed borders a long time ago to foreign nationals whereas ours have been open all the time.  With 211k positive cases and 31k deaths and the number of new cases being flat at just under 5k per day we are going to start to reduce lockdown measures?

Our lockdown has been weak compared to other countries with (now smaller death toll) and their new case and death curves have dramatically reduced. Ours haven’t.  We should have gone for a very hard lockdown.  Now we are faced with the impact on the economy vs the virus increasing and it looks like the economy is going to win.

Not catching the virus before a vaccine comes out (and is administered) is going to be very difficult over the next 18 months.

The app that’s being developed.....  without being tested for anti body.... how do we know if we’ve already had the virus and yet have to self isolate if we have been near someone who has the virus.  We could be told to self isolate on a frequent basis one the lockdown is lifted.

Just my onions, not petty sniping as I am a Tory but I don’t agree with how they have handled the virus.

Yeah FF, what you playing at criticising the very people that have put us in this situation. You should be clapping Boris and thanking him for being a fucking spineless and rudderless leader. And make sure you make comparison between him and Churchill when in fact he is much more like chamberlain proclaiming peace in our times.

As you say, too little too late.

We should have closed them as soon as lockdown was announced but do you think that some of the loony left would have shouted racists .

Well I was told this week Ryanair and the daily PIA still land at BHX.  Totally and utterly pointless now to ask people to self isolate.  And what would be the penalty for breach? A smack on the wrist when other countries (inc NZ) have sent people to prison for breach.

We fucked up the containment phase and pretty much the “delay” phase also.

I know I’ve linked this twice before. but it really does represent the incompetence of the government perfectly with this great big fuck up.

Don’t be so fucking stupid.

Anyway, on another note, hope the tests went ok, when do you get the results?

If this does happen I hope someone asks at the daily press conference what has changed with the science that no-one thought this a good idea 2 months ago.

I totally agree with you FF. I remember when the horror stories were coming out of China in January I thought to myself the only way to stop it happening here would to limit incoming flights and quarantine those that do arrive but we are certainly not the only country guilty of this. If I was a CT nut I would think all governemts wanted this to spread.

The really annoying thing is.....  this would have been so easy to implement back in Jan.

A barn door and a horse spring to mind.
