If he’s wise and invests in real estate and shares he will be fine. He could comfortably live a decent life

Or you know, drugs, booze and partying...

TBF didn't he set up a charitable organisation to help out children in war zones? (not saying it's a real organisation, and not saying it's a tax dodge, I honestly don't know which it is)

Reports of a £2.5m payout are supposedly wide of the mark, and Saido only received a small payout. This is according to a Sentinel journo with connections at the club. What the 'small' payout is, we'll probably never know.

Hi DK.

How will sacking him stand up against employment law? Also do you have a link for the article?

Many thanks

“Mutual Consent” suggests he’s been paid off to go. There won’t be any need to go legal.

With 3 years left on a 60k/wk contract, that's around £10m taking into account loyalty bonuses and so on, so comparatively £2.5m is quite small!

Was it a mutual decision, or was is a sacking following behaviour, I didn't have time to read the statement in full

Ahhh having re-looked at it I do recall reading it at the time. Taking from charity is super low.

Hi Slav, this is the article. The journalist described the payment as 'peanuts' in a later tweet.

As for employment law, me and my one 'o' level haven't got a clue.  Big Grin

SW4 - Saido's original wage would have been around £75k per week. But following relegation this would have been reduced to around £45k.
