The same people that persuaded angry working class folk to vote Brexit are the same people who ushered in more immigration from across the globe and clearly they knew this would be a direct consequence of leaving the EU, the same angry British folk are now convinced that those who advocated for Brexit are the answer to the migration they dislike so much by voting for Reform. A party bankrolled and or supported one way or the other by millionaires and billionaires, many of which don’t even live in the UK.
‘Here are by bollocks, please kick me in them really hard’, seems the logical conclusion to the hopes of those so irate/worried about migrants. For the last 15 years this country’s political direction has been informed by the snake oil salesmen persuading the least educated, older generations to not only damage their futures but those of their children’s and grand children. Look how well it’s all going, pandering to Reform and previous to this Johnson.

You could say them same about the calls from Rayner & Bodybags for Labour to help the nighttime economy having spent 18 months supporting policies that have burnt it to the ground.

I think I know which U.K. political figures have done the most harm to the country’s testicles over the last few years and it’s not the two people you mention. Wave at Nige and Johnson.

They wouldn't even have been there without Brown & Darling.

It is not immigration that is the problem
It is inequality

It's like Gary Stevenson said, the working and middle classes are looking for political solutions to why they are asset poor, and are getting poorer.
And they are given two solutions, one is to close the gap between the obscenely rich and the rest of society, the other is to target immigration.
Stevenson argues that the very wealthy will favour and fund political parties that favour the second solution. And along comes the UK'S 7th richest man to prove his point.
And I'm beyond despair with people who argue that debate on immigration has been stifled. Throughout my adult life (and I'm 64) the immigration debate has been a constant, there has been absolutely no stifling of debate.

Im not doubting what you say about inequality
People were flagging concerns & issues when New Labour were in power
There wasnt an issue around inequality or poverty then as Brown ended boom & bust
Im not sticking up for any party btw
The Gillian woman from up north was labelled a bigot by Brown off camera
It was relating to sheer volume of people coming here & pressure on local services, property prices rising

Tax-dodging plonker in charge of odious club in talking bollocks shocker.
I can’t wait for the Carrick rejuvenation to end, and for this lot to be deep in the shit again. Absolutely loathsome club from top to bottom. They’re long overdue a Cunha tantrum and when it happens, cue the rest.
Back to Jim’ll Chemically Fix it, he’s just desperate for Farage to allow INEOS Energy to drill, baby, drill. He really is a tit.

Except Jim Ratcliffe advised people to vote Labour at the last election.
Nothing will change in this country until people of our age vote against the deficit spending that is robbing their children and grandchildren. Everything else, including the immigration debate, is just trivia.

Whichever way he chose (or indeed chooses) to vote next time, this sympathy-seeking, somewhat hollow excerpt from a Shell Petroleum Company press release (made circa mid-1990s) sums it all up for me:
‘Government is the business of governments, and politicians. The world where companies use their economic influence to prop-up or bring down governments would be a frightening and bleak one indeed’.
Corporations have an easy enough ride from governments. They are going too far when they attempt to influence them. Which we all know, via lobbying known and unknown, they do.
Anyway, when’s he cutting his hair?
