Someone remind me how much they paid for Stansfield please. Substituted early 2nd half after doing F All along with Roberts and Osayi Samuel.

About the same as you paid for Dike. Less than you paid for Grant. Diangana. Olly Burke. Stansfield was really poor btw on Tuesday. Lots of ours didnt play well. That wasn’t a standard Blues home performance though. But we still should have won the game really

I didn't realise you signed Stansfield for 7 million, Sky sports reckons it was more than double that (15+ million rising to 20). I've seen blues a few times this season. That performance looked relatively standard to me, but admittedly I'm not there every week so you might turn into Real Madrid when I'm not watching

You know we bought those players from the money we earn’t from TV and media deals, whilst either in the Prem or thanks to parachute payments. None of it came from rich owners throwing money at us, it all came from our relative success at the time. If you get to the top table none of it will have been earn’t just bought. I know you won’t care but you’re comparing apples and pears when talking about our expenditure and yours. Almost all owners nowadays put money into a club. Yours no different. PAR dictates the amount. Ours are spending on the team and infrastructure to increase revenue long term to invest year on year. Yours no different know that though as you’ve advocated that as the way forward (02-12-2026, 10:57 AM)Sliced Wrote:(02-12-2026, 10:41 AM)KRO Wrote:(02-12-2026, 10:25 AM)rsbaggy2 Wrote: Someone remind me how much they paid for Stansfield please. Not Real Madrid , but good enough to put 3 past Cov and 4 past Millwall and Norwich and to score in every other league game at home.

It’s interesting - that stat about which teams Blues have put a few goals past - what it says about Davies strengths and limitations

For me it’s just being more direct. Playing forward quicker. And that was definitely an issue with Mason as well. Without loads of pace and not moving the ball you’re just too easy to defend against. That’s my theory anyway

Being patronised by Blues fans, fuck me!
The game really has gone Tom.

We paid £14m for Grant as a premiership club. You can't spunk £15m in division 1 and say it is comparable. As for the others I see Furuhashi c£8m is lighting up the league. And that's on CURRENT players. Go back to earlier years and every club has poor signings.

This was my point, KRO seems to think our previous owners as far back as Peace actually invested in the squad, or indeed the club, they didn’t. Yes they bought the clubs but in JPs case I think his non-WBA linked investment was £1m. We have operated as a self sufficient club ever since GM got us promoted. Which is why we are now relying on our current owners to bail us out with regards to the debt we accrued. Every penny we spent was what we generated or didn’t as the case may be through our success on the pitch. Comparing our spend with theirs is meaningless. |
