I was somewhat underwhelmed knowing he was starting last night and confused as to why Bielik was on the bench.

However, considering the stick he has had in the recent horror shows you have to admire his mental strength. Getting a point there was some showing and he was the main reason why.

One other thing, is I'd thought him only about 5ft 9, and thats what it says online, which is very short for a full back. Being interviewed with Styles showed this clearly isn't the case. He's normal centre half height 3-4 inches taller than the online entry at least.

I wasn't there and didn't see the game. Based on what I have seen of him at the Albion I wouldn't have wanted to see him again. I laughed and rolled my eyes when he came on v Stoke. If he's had a good game, he owes us that. Long may it continue.
Phillips and Mepham having found where their bollocks are, at last, is also brilliant to see.
They all need to maintain this now until the end of the season.

I always rated Taylor and was glad when he signed, I was sad to see how badly he seems to have regressed due to age, however last night, in the first defence we've had since CC which looked organised and drilled he was immense, the player I always thought he was.

The ‘professional’ fouls by him and Mowatt imho were almost as good as his goal line clearance, showed a determination to stop anyone getting through at whatever cost which has been missing most of the season. We’ve conceded so many goals where players have run through half-arsed or non-existent challenges.

Bang on. Our (rightfully) much maligned centre backs might not be so exposed if our midfield tracked and tackled the players that simply run through them.

Yep. Fair play to him last night. My biggest issue with him at the start was his fitness - he often looked fooked after twenty. Then quality/concentration.

Last night shows there is a decent and committed player in there, somwhere.
