Songs that make you cry....

Wires by Athlete popped up on my playlist over the weekend and, as usual, bought a tear to my eye as it's written about the birth of the lead singer's premature baby.

I've got loads though to be fair as I'm a bit of a blubber.

Anybody got any....?

Everglow - Coldplay

We used to listen to it as my wife’s sister was slipping away with cancer 10 years ago. Horrible time but the song gave my wife comfort.

Run for Home- Lindisfarne

One of my Dad’s favourite tunes, he’s still with us at 82 but suffers with Alzheimer’s and Vascular Dementia.

Forever Young - Bob Dylan. It's in the Dylan Song based musical "Girl from the North Country" which I saw at the Old Vic in London with my wife and two children. I sat next to my son and it just struck a huge chord in my hopes for him at the time. I can't hear it now without going back to that place and it just wipes me out. But like Bob it doesn't take much.

June by Idles, about the singer's stillborn daughter, is absolutely devastating.

Hurt by Johnny Cash - I defy anyone to watch the video and not be emotional.

Half the world away - Aurora's cover version that John Lewis used. The advert reminded me of my Grandad.
