Villa will beat Man City to the title by +1 goal difference. The fish gods have spoken again.

Heard a lot of pundits and media saying the goal should have stood, Pep too. Imagine the noise if the score was 1-1 when this happened, either Pep or Arteta would have been spitting feathers. Unlikely in reality as the keeper would not have been up the other end, but the incident that actually happened would have been deemed unlikely when rules are being drawn up.

Might as well lump all my remaining crypto on this happening.

As unsatisfying as it is, the decision was the correct one to the letter of the law.

Agreed.  Ref's get enough abuse when getting decisions wrong without copping stick when they get it right!

I dunno why it is unsatisfying Duffers.  When I saw it in real time I thought the ref would have to disallow the goal immediately and issue the red card.  Them's the rules, not what would be satisfying.  The ref not acting correctly immediately made the situation more of a drama.

Unsatisfying in the sense that a deeply comical and hilarious passage of football didn't end in a goal.
