I guess it will have to be Phillips and Taylor with Mepham, Campbell and Bielik all injured?

Anyone but Taylor. I'd play Diakite there. Play Taylor and gift 3 points or risk Diakite? I know what I'd chose....

It will be Taylor. It could be Gilchrist with Imray at RB?

Styles, Gilchrist, Imray and Phillips would be the smallest ever recorded back 4. Facts.

Imray into RB and Gilchrist alongside Phillips.

Or does Diakite get a game?

Moving Gilchrist into the centre with Imray coming in would be my preference over Taylor being ANYWHERE near the XI, especially in a 4, but Gilchrist did well against a tricky winger yesterday so I'd be inclined to keep him at RB.

Yet another example of our season summed up - just as we keep a clean sheet, we lose one of them to injury after arguably his best game for us!

My main worry setting up like we did yesterday, against Blues leaves us sitting ducks
Imray and Johnston back in the team would at least give them something to think about. Issue with Gilchrist moving inside is if their big centre forward lines him up early.

Blues will offer a much greater threat than a depleted stoke team in not the best form. You are right about offering more of a threat. Yesterday's performance won't be anywhere near enough to get a result v Blues.

We did much better yesterday at keeping stoke away from our 18 yard box. That needs to be the play going forward, if we do that having a smaller backline matters less. Get up don't worry too much about first contact but ensure you're alive to the second balls and be aggressive.

Diakite played at CH at Burnley last season and was immense. Was it Gilchrust’s best game for Albion yesterday?

Gilchrist is the RB version of Molumby. Aggressive, gets stuck in, adds a lot to our competitiveness, but just isnt a very good footballer.

But yes, yesterday was his best all round performance.
