Trump and Christianity

I'm as bewildered as the next guy as to what the effin eff is going on over in America, but one wuestion continues to  bug me on the shit show from the orange moron, how can these Christians support him.

I watched the film 7 the other night, which is based around the 7 deadly sins cited in Christianity.

  • Pride-excessive belief in one's own abilities or superiority.

  • Greed-insatiable desire for material possessions, wealth, or power.

  • Lust -uncontrolled desire or craving, often of a sexual nature.

  • Envy is the desire to possess what others have, often with sadness or resentment.

  • Gluttony is overindulgence or excessive consumption, particularly of food or drink

  • Wrath is uncontrolled feelings of anger, rage, and hatred.

  • Sloth is laziness, apathy, or failure to utilize one's talents and do what is right

He's clearly guilty of pride, greed, lust(shagging porn queens) envy, wrath, and to all but the most blinkered gluttony and sloth seem contenders too.

He's an un-Christian as it's possible to me. Still somehow the other lot are the devil's bunch?

MAGA "Christianity" has absolutely no resemblance to what most people define as Christianity.

Simply the Americans he’s appealing to in his vote base are the most stupid and unsuccessful ones.
If America was them it’d be like a tinpot state.
The brighter ones who voted for him hopefully are beginning to realise the error of their ways.
Having said that how anyone sensible could have excused his catalogue of lies and corruption in the previous term is open to debate.

Not forgetting that he's a "Christian" who never goes to church, apart from where he once wandered to a nearby chuch heavily guarded, having had the way paved by peaceful protestors being tear-gassed, before staging a photo op where he was mistakenly holding a bible upside-down.

There's also the Trump Bible of course, which the MAGA mugs buy in their droves, that has had text removed from it that he doesn't like!

Tbf we have plenty of Tories and Reform types who say they are Christian when their voting records say they are anything but.

There is a correlation between those that will believe there is an all seeing celestial being that watches over us and everything you do and those that believe a rich fat orange man is looking out for them and their interests. Go for the gullible vote and you're a large way there.

Even the Bible preaches a false dawn will occur before the true Christ returns.

However I very much doubt either will have had anything to do with Epstein Island, stock market manipulation or a lady named Stormy Daniels. But then again, a good many American Christians believe that it’s perfectly normal (blessed, in fact) to roll about on the floor in front of everyone, speaking gibberish (i.e. in tongues). But then, then again, Meth is very popular in the US also.

I do often wonder what Jesus would make of all this if he ever actually turned up.
