It’s the term used for thinking about an outcome based upon a miserable historical experience that you automatically assume will happen again, despite plenty of evidence that it might go positive.
Seen a fair bit of it past 24 hours with people recalling Twerton Park.
How about thinking about the numerous seasons in that 16 years in the wilderness when we were in the bottom half of the Championship in a similar position and got comfortably clear?
I bet you’ve forgotten them and so have I, but we escaped by the skin of our teeth in 94 at Pompey and also when Megson wiped up the mess after Little left us in the shit.
Aside of that there was at least 4-5 other seasons when we were in a similar spot to now.
Don’t mind people admitting they are glass half full types but when they act like some soothsayer based on remembering 1991 then they need a reality check.
At the minute we aren’t in the bottom 3 and there’s half a season left.
Of course it could all go wrong, but it probably won’t.
It’s mid Jan, there’s lots of points to play for and we’ve got a new coach to turn it around.
Under Mason it was looking precarious but let’s give this guy 4-5 games before the mystics from Great Bridge etc starts reading the tea leaves and telling us it’s 1991 again.

It’ll take some doing for Eric to become Bobby Gould.
Remember Corberan’s first game being a defeat at home v a promotion chasing team.
Can totally understand the frustration of another late defeat but feel much better knowing that we didn’t have to hear more crap about moments.

Is how I see things too.

People get so entrenched in game by game results. I saw enough in the impact he had to know we will be fine.

Looking forward to the summer rebuild and next season

Just like Corberán v Sheff Utd, Ramsay re-organised improved the performance and organisation of the side, in the opening match, despite a defeat. He changed things when it appeared everything was going south. A couple of additions (we can get two loans in IMO) and galvanise the rest of them, and we can easily climb the table. I's not like 1991 in that sense. Although I thought under Mason , it was going that way.
