Our management team is very inexperienced in English football, Mick Halsall is the one with the most experience. This was a problem with the last manager/coach and is likely to be a problem with the latest one. I got pilloried a few weeks ago for suggesting Phil Brown. However, there is a 65-year-old in Sheffield who has worked at the club before, successfully and knows how to organize a defence and is used to fighting relegation battles. Get him on the staff.

Our management team is fine, the assistant is very experiencedat this level. This clamour for former players and managers is embarrassing.

Which assistant is that and what is his experience as a manager?
The "clamour" for managers with GOOD records to get us out of the relegation battle we are in is far from "embarrassing"

Calling for Megson in 2026 is embarrassing.

Why?
In an advisory capacity you can "pick his brain"

Managers will have a network of peers they can seek guidance from if they so choose.
They dont need an 'experienced', older guy, basically looking over them. It adds an extra layer of opinion and more often ego that can muddy the water.
Hire the man you want, trust him to be a capable professional.

Is that not what Mason did? His "network of peers" were not successful.
You make a fair point on more opinions and ego but one of the concerns with Ramsay is surely his inexperience. If we lose the next two he is going to be under pressure, an old head might steady the ship!

Megson over achieved massively with us, but he's been out of the game for 8 or 9 years now. Things have changed massively in that time, and even more so than we he was a really our boss.
Let's give the new guys an actual chance eh? I bet more than half of these types of suggestions wouldn't be being made had we held on for a draw with Boro.
