Our central defence…

As with every other part of our team, playing with zero confidence

We've got a striker who's not looked like scoring for a month, none of the recognised central midfielders we started the season with, defenders who can't win a tackle and two goalkeepers who haven't made a save since Christmas.

At it.
Not sure if I'm laughing or crying Ted.

Phillips and Mepham are making Murphy and Carbon look like Baresi and Maldini!!

Joking aside we have zero confidence at the back. Hopefully better coaching will make a difference but we have to play Campbell in the centre and bring in a right back or hope that Williams can make the breakthrough.

We need to bring a couple of midfielders in on loan too. A point would have seen us get out of jail tonight. Eric spoke well after the game and tonight would have given him some important pointers to players to keep and those to bin.
Good luck Eric, you are going to need a slice of it.

Underwhelming doesn't cover it. Missing Bartley ffs

When they showed up tonight I was hopeful they were going to put on their boots

Add the goalkeeping to the centre back shambles too.

Let's not forget that we were ready to run Barts out of town before Carlos gave him the platform to show what a good defender he could be.

I have no issues with Griffiths personally, he needs to be given the opportunity to continue his development behind a well organised defense.

Phillips, Mepham and Taylor are significantly inferior to Bartley, Ajayi and Holgate and that says a lot. Hopefully coaching and organisation will help to a degree but Phillips ball watches constantly and the three of them are so slow.

Our central defenders (and the rest) will be so much better for good coaching!

Good coaching is key. Look how bad Bartley looked in that match against Blues pre CC.
Hopefully Madge can sort them out.

This is true, if we still had Barts, Ajayi and Holgate I'd put money they'd be every bit as bad as these after a year split between Mowbray and Mason coaching them.  I reckon this guy won't stand any messing and we surely have enough centre backs to get a tune from a couple of 'em? I wouldn't rule out Diakite there either.
