I’ve known them since school and that’s 40 plus years of support and friendship. One of friends reverted to Islam when he met his future wife at work and I went with him to Birmingham Central Mosque for his reversion and to his wedding.

They have both worked hard and had two kids, one of whom got a 2-1 at Cambridge University and is now teaching history at secondary school. Their daughter is at college and we found out yesterday she had won an international film award for a short film on Shakespeare which she directed.

We talk about lots of subjects yesterday one of which was how they feel threatened and uncomfortable by certain individuals who have abused them recently. In the street as they go about their daily lives. These brilliant hard working gentle intelligent people no longer feel safe in their own area and are considering moving abroad because of the vile racism of reform and its supporters.

Get some ladders and stick some England flags up. That'll reassure em.

Took 3 pages to change the narrative from Jews being gunned down at the beach to Muslims feeling 'uncomfortable'. This bored summed up.

None at all, but feel free to make political points to support your narrow prejudiced views based on today’s tragic events.

I chose my words carefully and attempted to downplay the anger I feel at hearing how my friends of 40 years have been subjected to vile racist abuse and feel physically threatened by the scum that feel emboldened to spread their hate.

Hmmmm pretty narrow. However these are not isolated incidents and the level and vitriol of racist abuse is on the increase.

Well lets play top trumps. I've lived where I am for 64 years. It's got so bad here all my family and friends have moved away. I want changes. If Labour aint going to make them I'll ask Reform to. My views are prejudiced by the way my town has changed for the worse in front of my very eyes not what someone has told me. You crack on and vote how you want but I won't judge you or say bad things about you. Try someone else's shoes on for once they might not fit

What changes in your town has caused all your friends and relations to move away and what changes are you asking Reform to make?

Worth remembering on this thread (given its original point) that it seems to have come to advocating supporting a party with an antisemitic leader part funded by Russia to help them solve issues of some feeling they’ve lost a sense of British national identity. The same fella who called a vote that helped triple immigration.

And when you consider all the above, that’s probably why the word thickos gets banded about, whether it’s fair or not.

I am older than you. I spent part of last Saturday and part of yesterday campaigning to elect a Labour candidate in a relatively poor ward in one of the most deprived constituencies in the UK. Walking the walk, where I grew up and went to school. There was crime then and there is crime now, it's relative! I think that it's likely it will elect a Reform Cllr next May, what changes do you think Reform will make and how long do you give them?
