If you call to “globalise the intifada”…

I've lived in the same square couple of hundred yards all my life of nearly 65 years. I've loved growing up and living here and never dreamt of leaving. It has changed for the worse in the last 20+ years and is getting worse. I stayed to look after my old mom who we lost last year. She couldn't go out by herself for fear of getting robbed (had her purse snatched twice) and was too old to change her ways. I saw and still see the changes during that time that caused a lot of the issues here. If you don't know about it you aint affected by it and I'm happy for you but a lot of the population feel the same so you can't really knock them for giving change a go. The last lot allowed it to continue and the current lot started it and are now turbo charging issues. All Labour needed to do after 14 years of seeing Tories fuck people over was to make people feel better. They got in and kicked a lot in the bollox. I ain't a supporter of any political party like most of you and have always voted for who I think would be best for us. Time for a big change

By the way the family that bought the house were struggling to get a deposit to buy it so I accepted their bid which was £5k less than the next people that saw it and gave them all the carpets, curtains, fittings, kitchen equipment and all the furniture they wanted. The elder of the family hugged me in gratitude and invited me to their house blessing day or whatever it should be called.

Reform won’t bring change. The problem really isn’t about immigration, it’s about having the services to support that immigration. The doctors and nurses to treat them, the social structure to provide them with outlets (youth clubs, support services), the schools to educate the children and importantly the police to protect and be a discipline for the community.

The last 20 years is not due to immigration it’s down to not spending on infrastructure. Reform want to reduce the spending on infrastructure

Only time will tell mon. I'm ok as my life is virtually over but the kids of today are gonna have a shitty life if things don't change. A 4 year gamble won't make things much worse. Like I keep saying the only other options are more of the same or some silly vote for stupidity politics that people will opt for to avoid voting for Reform just like what happened last election with not voting for the Tories.

The big difference around here between Tory and Labour governments is that the Tories used to sneak people in late at night. Coaches and minibuses used to pull up in the high street in the early hours. Ex hotel dwellers wearing the same 'uniform' would get off them in their t shirts only whatever the weather was, bright white socks, flip flops, back pack and pull along suitcase. They'd disappear quickly with a paper map of where to go in hand. Now they only come sporadically because there's nowhere empty for anyone now but still have the same 'uniform'

As long term immigration was down roughly 65% last year from 2024, in what way do you think Labour is making it worse if that’s your main concern?

The high street used to be empty mid week while everyone worked except the odd few dole dossers hanging around the bookies. Now every day is like a Saturday shopping day with lots of people there night and day not at work.

Real life is what you live in not what some figures tell you. Some areas are affected differently to others.

Real life is not going to be solved by voting for the same players on a new team to do the exact thing that has caused the problems. Austerity has led to exactly this point - not just my opinion, but that of a senior policeman mate on West Mids homicide team. Real life will take time to rebuild, we are just at the start of that rebuild.

So what are you advocating? Round up people and deport them and then somehow create a mass fertility boom in certain parts of the population? If not, quite who will do all the jobs that make the country move and keep enough working age people to support the elderly I’ve no idea, but blind hope won’t make that happen

Why would you vote for a party that is only on the side of rich, has links to MAGA and has proven wherever it’s been placed in a position of responsibility to be callous, unprofessional and divisive? Five years of Reform will make the lives of the most vulnerable unbearably miserable. Madness… that will be brought about by the poorly educated to wreak havoc on the poorly educated and those less fortunate.

The same bullshitter that brought them Brexit and made all of us poorer is going to be the answer to the problems of the country…ffs!

We were out with our friends yesterday as we do every year , meet up pre Christmas for a meal and catch up. I’ve known them since school and that’s 40 plus years of support and friendship. One of friends reverted to Islam when he met his future wife at work and I went with him to Birmingham Central Mosque for his reversion and to his wedding.

They have both worked hard and had two kids, one of whom got a 2-1 at Cambridge University and is now teaching history at secondary school. Their daughter is at college and we found out yesterday she had won an international film award for a short film on Shakespeare which she directed.

We talk about lots of subjects yesterday one of which was how they feel threatened and uncomfortable by certain individuals who have abused them recently. In the street as they go about their daily lives. These brilliant hard working gentle intelligent people no longer feel safe in their own area and are considering moving abroad because of the vile racism of reform and its supporters.
