However, they don't help themselves by shooting themselves in the foot now and again giving bullets to the right and left with mistakes like this and the Glastonbury debacle.

I was watching Kingdom last night and then the excellent Riot Women, a reminder of how brilliant the Beeb is in so many areas.

I heard a good analogy this morning - if you try to stand in the middle of the road you will get run over by both lanes sometimes. I'm with you Rich, anybody at our level of calling for the Beeb to be cancelled is just being led by the nose by somebody who has a vested interest in the alternative or feels threatened by the impartiality (even if that impartiality trips over itself now and again).

I suspect the Venn diagram of people calling for the scrapping of the licence fee and complaining about misrepresentation in adverts will form a perfect circle.

The people were persuaded to vote for BREXIT, it would be a huge mistake to think that the likes of Farage aren't queueing up to re-enact another great harm on the UK.

Agreed - I'm comforted to know I'm at the opposite end to Liz Truss having heard her statement (God knows why she keeps getting quoted).

Absolutely no need. All it has done is give credit to his 'fake news' cry at everything said against him. The resignations won't change much because the bias seems pretty much ingrained there.

This is correct.

Massive own goal by the Beeb.

I'm a big supporter of the BBC but they make it hard work . The incompetence at times is staggering

Im generally in favour of the bbc
Its been let down by some staff that have damaged its reputation

Whereas Sky & itv as bad as each other in terms of quality & output
Well suited if they merge

Sad though as itv was once a decent entertainment channel
