When hamas surrender and handover all the hostages no way will they allow hamas to regroup .

No one else in the world seems to believe that question has any bearing on anything. I have no demands to put to the PA as they’re utterly irrelevant to the situation in Gaza.

What conditions are we supposed to place on the PA? Finkenstein has done what Syed and Proth have done and conflate Palestine with Hamas.

We have not recognised Hamas as the legitimate authority, we have not opened up diplomatic channels with Hamas. The PA officially supports a two-state solution, it has recognised Israel and it's denounced October 7th and called for the hostages to be released. For obvious reasons they do not accept the legitimacy of Hamas. I fail to see what conditions we're supposed to apply to them as they already accept everything we would ask of them.

I fail to see how calling for "conditions" to be nothing but pointless posturing from people who don't want to accept Palestinian statehood but don't want to be called out for it. And claiming it's for domestic audiences also makes no sense as why the hell would Australia and Canada play up to Labour Party supporters and activists?

You demean yourself by continually asking such a stupid question.

I have no demands on the PA, they are entirely irrelevant to the current situation.

We have recognised the legitimacy of a Palestinian state that is run by the PA and only the PA. We have opened formal diplomatic channels with the PA and only the PA. The entity that is irrelevant to the UK's recognition of Palestine are Hamas.

The PA are the sole Palestinian authority that is relevant to this decision, Hamas are not. I find the straw man of Hamas utterly pathetic in this conversation as it's solely brought up to detract from the actual decision.

The problem with the likes of Finklestein is that they will only ever accept a Palestinian state, once there are no Palestinians left living in Palestine.

You have no demands on the PA because they have consistently done the things that the people with the same mindset as you, have wanted them to do.

And their reward for that? Well there has been none. So it is entirely consistent of you that you deem them irrelevant.

I wouldn't describe Finklestein as an honest broker on this subject.
