Rape of a Sikh woman in Oldbury

Absolutely awful, I hope she's able to recover from the mental and physical scars of this as soon as possible.

Had the ethnic backgrounds been reversed, the national media would be all over it, no doubt with a far-right mob visiting the area. As it is, it speaks volumes about the low-key way this shameful attack is being reported and the apparent lack of general indignation.

Tbh, the most important thing is to catch who did it and put them behind bars for as long a time as possible, so I'm quite happy the media are letting the police get on with their investigation.

It was reported on National News at Ten plus local news  it's on numerous Facebook pages  The local Sandwell MP has got involved I can't remember which page I saw that on but it showed a copy of the letter he wrote on official headed paper.  sikhyouth broke the story citing flag waving community as racists etc etc questioning lack of empathy from the police yet police are involved & doing what they do to apprehend the perpetrators .

It's hard to believe sometimes how evil some people can be.

First emotion was feeling sorry for the poor woman, second emotion was genuine anger.

If any sikh's read this - 99% of people share your feelings. Don't do anything silly, let the police catch these monsters and hopefully they get sent down for a very long time. It'd be for life if it was up to me.

This is just shocking news period…
I know for a fact many local Sikh ladies since 60’s would walk to do “seva” (assist in cleaning & cooking) from 3:30/4am every morning to Smethwick Gurdwaras on the High St every morning 365 days a year the area was considered so safe!!..

I find it so sad that race/religion is brought into these horrific incidents.

A human has been attacked and assaulted in the worst way possible. Their life won't be the same again, and they'll have to live with this ordeal and face many dark moments and will probably live in constant fear. I couldn't give a toss what race or religion the victim is, that's heartbreaking.

Ditto the attacker. I couldn't give a toss what background they come from, they're scum and I hope they face justice. I'm a twat, and not as reasonable as RS above, I'd take pleasure in hearing the scumbag has faced justice outside of the law. Sometimes a custodial sentence is not sufficient.

These flags are a part of all this. Intimidation. Weoley Warriors are known to police as being on the Far Right, with links to BNP and others.

With you on this Josh, rape and Child fiddling are my top two hates and warranty extremely long custodial Sentences with no parole offered,or life should mean life. Race/religion dont come i to it this was an horrific attack on a defenseless and terrified woman by two pure evil scum bags my heart goes out to her. Lets hope the authorities catch these two pretty quickly but if it transpires they receive some local justice outside of the authorities then i for one would not shed a tear , complete and utter cunts deserve it.

The flags are the ‘in’ here - they are the entry point where you can be proud of your country and at the same time be weaponised by those with more sinister goals. If they are challenged then you get the Jacko’s of this world who have the ability to debate and make a good argument about needing to build our communities and have some pride back. They will be linked to the view that we have ‘illegal’ immigrants coming to this country and crime is increasing (and tying those two unrelated stats together) and being ‘clever’ in blaming any issue on those that don’t support the flag.

There is an underlying message in the flags that ‘This is England’ and that is intimidating, whether intended or not by the flag hangers, but that is a fact. It also encourages the racists to feel emboldened in anyone who disagrees with their view will meet with the ‘defence of our culture’ attacks and protests.

This will get defended, with good intentions, by those who can see the frustration of these ‘forgotten communities’ and their right to demonstrate because the ‘London elite’ wouldn’t have this in their back yard. The facts don’t support those type of arguments but once they are made then they become ‘fact’ to those that make and hear them and the become more emboldened.

And that leads ultimately to attacks. Thankfully they are few and far between and I really hope in this case that this isn’t racially motivated because there can be nothing more medieval that this type of attack. But this is the road we are on and whilst we continue to appease the demonstrators and flag hangers for ‘defending their communities’ we will continue down this path.

And here we are, the arguments have been made over and over, and we know the facts. ‘Illegal immigrants’ haven’t caused an upturn in crime in the areas they are in, they aren’t just sent off to the impoverished communities, and they aren’t the number one issue in getting this country back on its feet. Let’s call it what it is - Racism.Time to call it out.

Terrible news. Thoughts and feelings are with the young lady, her family and friends. I sincerely hope the perpetrators are brought to book and justice is duly served.
