Early odds are as you'd expect, with the Ravens, Eagles, Chiefs and Bills making up the 4 favourites.

My 9ers will have no real outside buzz, but a play-off berth will still be expected by the faithful despite big roster changes.

Think the 9ers hopes revolve around keeping McAffrey fit for the season. Was a huge miss for them last year.

McAffrey is massively important. Purdy has got the big contract now too, so he will have to really excel. The main issue for me is the rookie defensive line. We've changed several personnel and while Bosa and Warner are first ballot Hall of Famers they will have to pick up a lot of slack. Then there is the ongoing Special Teams issues with Moody's struggles continuing into pre-season.

The Houston Texans will win the Super Bowl. Best defence in the league. Good weapons on offence and a new offensive coordinator. They are a massive price at 40/1 considering they have a weak division which they have won the last two years. Should have beat the chiefs in the play offs last season but the refs and injuries did for us.

Might be a bit of light at the end of the tunnel with Dart.

Maybe. He'll be behind Russell Wilson and Jemeis Winston initially though. But if we start badly there will be pressure to put him in ahead of Winston.

Some results that will raise eye brows on this opening weekend.

My focus was squarely in Seattle, where the 49ers overcame their terrible Special Teams unit and further injuries to key players, to grind out a deserved win against the Seahawks. The defense, full of rookies but marshalled by the superb Nick Bosa and Fred Warner and with Saleh returning as coordinator won us the game, giving up just a single TD off a defensive penalty on 3rd down in the end zone.

A very promising start for a new look roster.

The Dolphins had a good run, but the season is now over. I can't see a recovery from here.

Good to see you remain consistent and level-headed with your reactions across all sports.

Packers off to a good start. Lions lost players, Proth? They didn't look as good as last year (though it's early days).

Looks like C5 have got the rights to show games on a Sunday evening. Welcome change that - no more feeling like shit on a Tuesday morning.

They've lost their offensive co-ordinator, which is a massive loss. And quite a few changes on the o-line. They looked terrible against the Packers.

Conversely the Packers looked impressive.

Once Parsons is fully integrated they're going to be challengers.

What was the C5 coverage like?

Very much tongue in cheek  Big Grin

I didn't expect much from this season before yesterday's result, tbf. Bills pretty much have this Division wrapped up before a ball is kicked. But let's see what happens. You never know.
