Lewis Cox has confirmed IJ will be the only attacking signing of the day.

For me, we are massively short in attack.
Strange. Was expecting him to come in as left back. Competing with Grant and MJ for left wing, unless we fancy him as an inverted right winger to replace Fellows.

Could, perversely, be good news though, as it may mean that Maja, Dike and Bany are all close to being back in the reckoning. If they are, and can stay that way (big if I know) then we are far stronger than we currently look.

It's going to be a long season if Dike/Bany/Maja don't get fit, quick sharp.

Agreed.  Huge hole on the right side

I have been expecting a right-sided signing to replace Fellows and can't see the point to having 3 players competing for the left wing position so, if Iling Jr is the only attack-minded player we sign, maybe he or Mikey will be expected to play on the right, or there might be a player coming in that Cox doesn't know about.

I know it's not a great guide but Illing Junior's Wiki says he can play LB,LW,RW or CM! So could well be that we see him as adding variety to the wing positions and we may see him and MJ / Grant swapping over during games. Something I think we've lacked for some time.

Thomas did it Saturday and caused us problems.

Can only assume that if we're not going after a direct replacement for Fellows, we've bought Jed some new hamstrings instead?

Pretty sure Ryan rates Mikey on the right so could well play there.

I'm not sure that Grant has the trickery/dribbling skills to be effective on the right, but Iling-Junior does. Cox seems to be ruling thatout though, so we'll have to see.

I don't think we have the luxury of being able to sign players to cover injuries in positions where we'd have enough players if everyone was fit, so maybe 2 players today will be it. I was convinced that the mooted below average fee for Fellows meant that wehad someone lined up to replacehim, but it looks like we're making do. I have faith in Mason and Nestor to know what they're doing though.

Charlie Taylor will be 32 in a couple of weeks, so he doesn't fit our current mould if we do go for him.

Can't see this side creating enough consistently to make the top 6, especially if injuries kick in.

My take is that the club don't really expect a top six finish and this season (in private anyway). If we some how do make the top six then I think they'll see that as a bonus.

The fans on the other hand may be expecting more, especially after the start we've had.

We're wildly lopsided unless Price is going to play off the right, with Bany and Maja competing for the 10 and Dike and Heggebo the 9.
