This always makes me laugh (I think?), too. Utter cretins.
I 100% get why people would have gotten frustrated when we were in that run of draws, but a number of things stood out for me during that period:
1. We were organised.
2. Had a clear game plan that players brought into.
3. Never looked like losing.
4. Didn't lose - still picking up points.
Kind of a 5th, I always had a gut feeling that run would turn around for the better.
All signs of an excellent manager.
During TM's time here, I just never felt comfortable with him, I never had confidence we would consistently pick up points, and, a 3-4 game period around the Leeds and Burnley away games aside, we never looked organised or had an identity.
CC really is an excellent manager, and to think some folks couldn't see that isn't surprising as you'll always get idiots amongst us, but it is laughable.

Agree it’s all of this.
Pragmatism is boring, and in a game where fans will pride excitement over results, CC’s skills were probably never truly appreciated, and I’ll hold my hands up and say I was probably overly harsh on him at times too.
CC didn’t lose games, sometimes it caused frustration when what appeared winnable games petered out into dull draws, but as we saw under TM, this group are more likely to lose than win a game, even with far more attacking talent added.
CC did what he could to ensure we got points, and had he stayed we’d be in the playoffs.

Such a brilliant read. We were very lucky to have him through a really difficult couple of years.

*Sigh*
I miss hearing his views on the matches. But apparently some of our fans found him hard on the ear.
We need our next manager to have that level of enthusiasm and attention to detail. There are lots of fine margins in the Championship, so small things can make a big difference.

Weren't we just! Great interview where the game patterns were all prepped for and the post game summary clear and sensible. A pity some of our players ( and about, exactly 3, of our fans) thought taking off the handbrake and releasing their inner child would actually help.
There'll be another coaching team out there with a similar approach no doubt, problem is, everyone is looking for them. Big call coming for Shilen, Nestor and Co.

Valencia are an elite club.
They’ve been to the Champions League final twice an won La Liga this century. They’re probably the Spanish equivalent of Spurs.
He could make them contenders.
Spurs aren't elite so I think you've contradicted yourself there. Valencia are a top club though and should be further up the table.

In all of the excitement of the prospect of having Russell Martin as the club's next hairdresser / Head & Shoulders model, I forgot that Valencia played on Wednesday vs Alaves which leaves them in 10th on 45 points.
Alaves are now 4 above the drop zone so it was a big win for them.
A case of Alaves desperate for points, and Valencia on the beach, of which they have a wide selection?
He's gorra go Tom.

Something of a bogey team for them apparently. There is also a stat they haven't won on a Wednesday for 17 games.

Someone on Heroes and Valenc has just said that he's "taken them as far as he can"
