Running Clique
Ran 11 miles over lunch, which considering my Friday night consisted of several pints, a few fags and a massive Five Guys I'm pretty happy with it.

Did my first 20miler in Saturdayof my marathon training block on Saturday. Nice relaxed pace with some running pals. Fucking long way though and the thought of an extra 10k on top and at race pace still slightly nauseating

Top effort pal. It's a hell of a commitment to train to do those kind of distances. Managed 3 x 10k last week for the first time this year and improved my time with each run so fairly happy with that. Might not be able to commit to 3 x a week again for another few weeks but I'm going to try and fit in what I can.

That’s all you can do Midge. Get it in as and when and some running always better than no running.

Got a PB in the Bath Half Marathon yesterday - 1:38:25.

My first ever sub-1:40 half. Pretty chuffed with the time after turning 50 in January.

My PT set me a 3-month training plan, which was horrendous at times, but it did the trick.

Wore carbons for the first time in race. Made a huge difference with recovery, especially on inclines.
But I think they did lead to my back twinging in the last mile and then going into spasm after I crossed the finish line!

Well done on the PB.
Amazing what some structure can do to timings.
I started running again in January - Couldnt run a mile in 12mins (Horrific i know) Did my first "Proper" 5K last week and hit it in just under 27 mins.
Still a way off my PB from circa 10 years ago - but for someone thats done no fitness since until January for circa 7 years - i was happy.

Well done - impressive!
Beware of doing too much in them - a few in my Club have been reporting injuries because of them and a couple actually returned them for a refund.
