Shame really, he had potential to be a legend here. Seems like a combination of Redknapp's skullduggery and his own stupidity.

Odemwingie needed a Mowbray type manager. Despite his brilliance on the pitch there were always little issues in the background. Roy suggested he wasn't as injured as he said. Then they (both Hodgson and Clarke) moved him wide to accommodate Long. He was still a good player wide right, but he was superb through the middle. Then Clarke failed to reintegrate him in February after this happened.
I count myself lucky to have seen virtually every appearance he made for the club live.

The good thing is that Wingie and the club and fans have repaired the relationship to the point that we can all just laugh about it now.

No wonder he was pissed off when asked to play wide right. I remember one game when Long scored from a header served up on a plate from a peach of a cross from Odemwingie. The Brummie sang "there's only one Shane Long" Odem just smiled ruefully. I think that was the moment he felt it was time to move on.

I have a feeling money was more of pull than this being a push but I'm only guessing.

Loved the player. Thought the man was mad as a hatter. I'd love another PO at The Shrine

He was badly advised no doubt, Redknapp saying Get yerself ter Landan. Pity PO comes out of this with the red face when really his agent and 'Arry were the instigators. Still see him around, my mate played golf at the same place about a month ago, always got a smile and a hello.

Old Twitchy gets more and more smarmy every time I have the misfortune of hearing his bullshit.
