Agreed. I don't see the need for it either. Just keep players out of cups. Simple.

Willem Geubbels is being considered for loan by several Championship clubs including Leeds, Norwich and West Brom.

The St Gallen striker has scored eight goals for the Swiss side this season in all competitions.

Geubbels is 23 and began his career at Lyon and has also played for Nantes in France.

He was a France youth international from U16 to U19 level.

Forget it - we can’t sign him as he doesn’t meet the criteria, and even if he did, we’ve already signed 4 ESC players this season.   Lazy journalism/agent talk

Very good at Bristol Rovers last season - but played mostly as a left back. Can play pretty much everywhere except up top.

Would be a Callum Styles type utility man.

Another that would be a decent addition in terms of age and profile.

We want to buy, they only want to loan.

Fair play to the club for wanting to invest in longer term targets and not just go with quick fixes
